Despite the fact that Wall Street’s forecasts are notoriously inaccurate, the time of year is upon us once again when investors clamor for these views, as if this time will be different. Unfortunately, it won’t.

For our part, rather than trying to forecast the year in advance today, we’ll spend the entire year focusing each day on the present. Most are trying to tell us what will happen in the future, yet few can confidently tell us what is happening today. By knowing what is happening today better than most, we believe we can gain an edge.
